Was looking for the Reach Records SXSW showcase on the Reach Records facebook page, but the event tab hasn't been activated. Could you post it there? Having facebook events provides such an easy way for folks to save dates and invite friends!
Thanks!

seems kind of weird and wrong, tried it and it feels cult-ish. What are your thoughts?

seems like a marketing thing... little odd. Totally out of the way, but on the radio today they we're tlaking about Jeremy Lin and his faith. Before games he listens to Hillsong... and Lecrae!! That's rad, 116! All for the Glory of God

Agreed, we don't need stuff to make us want to promote their stuff, I think what they do is awesome, but making a group out of if is odd and not needed. I am going to share what I like. Wish they wouldnt have done this, it just gives off a wrong vibe to me.

How could you dislike this??? It is a ministry to reach people online for Christ! You can also come in contact with other 116 believers!!! And it's not like they're making money off it. They lose more money with the rewards than they make. Cum on people. How is this a cult??? DWYL

i think this is a little bit wrong.. if you wanna reach people for Christ don't use the online media and stuffs like that. It'll be better if you go to the streets and meet them in real life (pray and ask God for his guidance before you going down the streets, because we ain't no mormons/jehovah witnesses idiots :D)

p.s: reach your family first before reaching the strangers..
Act 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in JERUSALEM (people around you/your family), and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth"

While the use of an incentive get people to spread the word does sound a little off, I don't really see an issue with the idea of an online street team. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests outreach should be limited to face-to-face contact. The whole point of going out into the streets is to meet people where they are. If the people are on Twitter and Facebook, then utilize Twitter and Facebook to reach them. And honestly, who's to say that their intent behind the reward system isn't simply to show love to those who are supporting them? It's a bit of a stretch, I'll admit, but even if that isn't the case, I don't necessarily see this as a matter of right and wrong, just a matter of personal taste. Just my two cents.

Nothing is wrong with rewards that's cool. Look at it, as if you are on the outside looking in. So some people who don't know the Lord, don't know reach, see this record company saying "go get people for us." basically, and we will throw you some goods. The non-Christians see just another record company they think, just trying to get people to get lured into their site, and buy music.

All I'm saying, is that some people might get the wrong idea and spam their friends so they can get points. In that part, the friends will be like "yeah right, stop sending me this crap." And they probably didn't even see it!! So what's the point to that?

I think this is a great thing for people to use the rewards is just another way for people to spread the movement people need to hear about what God is doing and who he is.

I think you guys are reading too much into this. it's really just a way to promote the music and the movement through social networking. You kind of already do the same thing every time you post something about Reach or put any of their artists under your "Likes" on your facebook

For the guys who are against this. what are you guys doing to reach the lost? if your just keeping your faith to yourself then you have no righ to dis this. GO HARD OR GO HOME! :D

I agree, but i dont think the motivation should be, oh im gonna send the most people the link to like the movement so i can win trip's new album, its just a little fake and impersonal. share the gospel out of the sincerity of your heart and with care so that the people will feel loved right ??

I agree with Tim!! Thank you! No one could say it better. And for Andres... I getcha go hard or go home, but that's not what this is man. You reach the lost by sharing your testimony. That's it, The Lord does all the work not us. He plants the original seed of Jesus, we only help them to grow. Like with disciples.. we don't CREATE them, we grow and nurture them, we don't pop them out like babies. All glory goes to God, not to us lowly people. When you caught up in me me me, you got it all twisted.
