Reachlife Catechism Study

doctrine_000Posted by REACHLIFE

Ok, many of you have asked us if we were ever going to have an online study available on the website. Well, now we do. Here is the first online study from Reachlife Ministries.

We are going to go through a Q & A of the basics of the Christian faith. To do this, we are going to use a method called catechizing.

Heres how it works. Each week we will post under the Reachlife blog a few Q & A’s that have been used throughout church history to help students learn the fundamentals of Christianity. Each post will have a question, its answer, and a short explanation of the answer to give you  better understanding of it. Also we’ll post some study questions at the end of each short study so you can use this with others or in a group.

So, what is a catechism?
Basically its a short summary of doctrine. It was used in the early times of Christianity to help students learn the fundamentals truths of the Christian faith. Think of it as a doctrinal manual in the form of questions followed by answers to be memorized.

How should I study this catechism?
Check back every day to see when a new question is posted. For each question, read the question and its answer, followed by the short summary of the answer provided. This will help give you a better understanding of the truth and be able to explain it to others. Then try to memorize both the question and the answer as it is given. This will help to keep these truths memorized over time. In the end, if you’ve studied all the sections and memorized the Q and A’s, in the end you’ll have a tight understanding of the basics of the faith.

Can I leave questions or comments on each question?
Absolutely. In fact, we want you to. Post your questions, comments, whatever. Let others know what you’re thinking and the questions you have. We want to know what you’re thinking and how God is growing you with this study. POST, POST, POST!

Is there anyway I can print this out?
Yes, as we add more post, we will add this to the resource section of the website. Look under “Resources > Curriculum > Catechism Study. From there you can see them all at one time and print a copy in PDF format.

So get ready to dig in with Reach as we study the basics of the faith. Who knows, you may even see some comments from Reach artists on the posts as well!

Straight ballin'.... I get so pumped & hype thinkin' bout all the solid things that the Lord is working our through this ministry. God is no doubt using this ministry in Ephesians 3:20 ways... It always goes beyond what I could even think, ask, or imagine. What a God we serve. Glorly to Jesus Christ - Savior & Lord, = all bout Him.

This is great! Through my college studies, I have been required to study the Westminster Confession of Faith. I grew up 'non-denominational Christian' from the time I was about 10 years old. This confession of faith stuff is new to me, but I can see the great need for it. It allows the believer to 'know what they believe and why they believe it', it prepares us to give an answer for our faith when we are met with questions and criticism.

Please continue putting these out! I especially like how you are adding 'study questions' at the end...I think it will help people make it their own!

God bless y'all!
