Honestly all of the newer 116 and other christian rap music is starting to mainly be auto tuney and electrical, I can't say its a bad thing, but why change something that you already knows works?
KB'S new album "TWL" was great, but literally 80% of the music was electric, and that becomes a little bit annoying after time.
But honestly, as long as the lyrics are good and strong in the Bible, then who cares what the actual music sounds like.
I got in touch with a friend I grew up with because we listened to all sorts of hip-hop together since childhood. We have been listening to Reach records since Tedashii's Identity Crisis, Black light, and Below Paradise albums. I listened to this new single and was greatly disappointed and I wanted to check myself against someone else who listens to a lot of hip-hop. He thought the song wasn't good and hoped the new album wouldn't sound anything like this. I pretty much agree with that statement. This single is very hard to listen to when I know what kind of quality tracks that could be put out by Tedashii. If I were you I'd go back to whatever you did on the Blacklight album and try to replicate that formula because the album was a masterpiece. I just want to be honest with my feelings on the new song I know sometimes people have fanboys that just say they love everything and say yes to everything and that everything is great that you put out. I just was to be honest because I really appreciate you as an artist and have enjoyed just about all of the music that you have put out to this point. Please work on progressing not regressing. The lyrics are fine, but the autotune was way over done for me and the beats aren't on the same high level as prior albums. The song will be probably grow on me and I'll probably learn to like it more over time, but it's not as good as prior work. In closing, I'll probably continue to buy at least the next album from each Reach artist and wish you all the best of luck. I just need to be brutally honest in case no one else is. God Bless.
